Orientation and Team Calibration

The first week focused on integrating into the company culture and understanding the operational workflow. The department head provided a comprehensive overview of the company’s mission and the impact of their current digital solutions. To ensure efficient project management, our cohort of 14 interns was strategically split into three specialized teams; I was placed in a group of five to maintain a high-touch collaborative environment.

Technical Integration and Project Handover

In the afternoon, the focus shifted toward technical readiness. After providing our GitHub credentials, we were granted access to the official repositories. Under the mentorship of Mr. Anton, I began the process of cloning the 'QLearn' (Learning Management System) codebase and configuring the necessary dependencies on my local machine.

This phase was crucial for understanding the environment variables and the specific architectural patterns used by the senior developers. Working with a typesafe stack involving NestJS and tRPC requires a strict local setup to ensure the schema validation via Zod functions correctly across the monorepo.
